Pioneering role thanks to sustainability strategy
As a regional family business, we take our responsibility for the environment, society and future generations seriously. Our goal is not only to meet sustainability requirements, but to be a pioneer in this area.
For us, sustainability is not stagnation, but progress. It does not restrict us, but challenges us to break new ground – with technology, courage and attitude towards our customers, partners and our region.
To live up to this claim, we voluntarily prepare a sustainability report in accordance with the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). In addition, we registered early on with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
CSRD: Transparency as a matter of course
We want to show what we have achieved – and what we are still working on. That is why we have prepared and had certified a complete CSRD report, even though RHODIUS is not subject to any legal reporting requirements. This makes us one of the first mineral water companies in Germany to take this step.
The report documents the progress we have already made as well as our ambitious goals in areas such as reducing CO₂ emissions, expanding renewable energies and more efficient water management. We have also produced a new brochure that gives you a customer- and consumer-friendly insight into our measures.
SBTi: Climate targets in line with the 1.5-degree target
As a company, we are clearly committed to scientifically based climate targets. That is why we have registered with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Based on the 1.5-degree target of the Paris Agreement, we are currently working on a roadmap that sets out our goals within a clear timeframe. We have already set ourselves the following targets:
fewer Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030
fewer Scope 3 emissions by 2030
lower natural gas consumption
purchase of green electricity
Our Code of Conduct
It is important to us to uphold our values of sustainability, integrity, inclusion and respect in all our business relationships. We have therefore defined a code of conduct for suppliers that sets out our expectations and guiding principles for business relationships. This code is based on various conventions, declarations and guiding principles from the ILO, the UN and the OECD Guidelines. In addition, this ensures that our own sustainability goals are always upheld.
